About the Chef

Raised in a small town outside of Paris, France, Megan was introduced to fine dining cuisine at a young age by her father who himself worked in the industry. Although her initial schooling and career path were in Microbiology, Megan made the decision to change careers in 2010 and attended the Culinary Institute of America Greystone in the heart of Napa Valley. After leaving school, Megan gained experience at John Besh’s Restaurant August in New Orleans before returning to Richard Reddington’s Redd in Yountville, California. Working in these high level and competitive kitchens was a perfect fit to further fuel Megan’s want to have her own restaurant one day. Since returning to Texas in 2013, she helped to open John Bonnell’s Waters and was Executive Chef at Café Pacific.

Now with a daughter of her own, Megan wants to focus on the values with which she was raised. “Anise was born from a desire to roll back the clock to when dinner was a sacred time shared with friends and family, a time for a pause on daily stress and distractions, to connect with others, and to nourish the body and soul at the end of the day.”
